Six daughters, Florence, Eva, Martha, Magdalene, Nannie, and Ethel M. and one granddaughter, Ida Rabon, of Fred and Ethel L. Tisdale, all became ill with some form of cancer after living next to the Koppers Inc. chemical and manufacturing plant over some time.
One son, Wilberforce, came down with prostate cancer. The other three sons, Fred Jr., George, and Samuel, died of heart attacks. Fred also had lung and respiratory-related illnesses.
One grandson, James, died of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after years of struggling with disabilities present since his birth.

Father and head of household
Immediate cause of death was cerebral infraction, thrombosis, and atherosclerosis. Other significant conditions contributing to the cause of death was Bronchopneumonia and Diabetes Mellitus.
Thrombosis – blood clots that block veins or arteries
Atherosclerosis – disease of the arteries

Bronchopneumonia – a type of pneumonia that causes inflammation in the alveoli which is any of the tiny air sacs of the lungs that allow you to breathe, lungs don’t get enough air.

Diabetes Mellitus – effects how your body uses blood sugar or glucose

The immediate cause of death was malignant neoplasm of breast

Malignant neoplasm – a cancerous tumor, can spread to other parts of the body beyond its point of origin. Neoplasm refers to an abnormal growth of tissue.

Renal Failure – kidney failure, happens when chronic kidney disease, the gradual loss of kidney function reaches an advanced state. The kidney’s no longer work as they should to meet your body’s needs.
